Institute of Law and the Center for Countering the Ideology of Terrorism have launched an autumn cycle of programs

The Institute of Law and the Coordination Center for Countering the Ideology of Terrorism and Preventing Extremism continue to implement anti-terrorism programs.

From September 19 to 22, students from various structures are undergoing full-time training in the program “Interethnic and Interfaith Relations in Modern Russia” at the Center for Training and Education of the Institute of Law specialists from migration services, representatives of regional administrations of Altai Krai, state and municipal employees, seminary students, employees of universities and educational institutions.

Participants were offered a series of interesting lectures, videos, and practical activities. The speakers were Marina Gradusova, Secretary of the Commission of Altai Krai for Countering Extremism, Chief Consultant of the Department for Interaction with Territorial Bodies of Federal Government Bodies of the Department of Administration of the Governor and Government of Altai Krai (topic: “Ethno-confessional situation in the region and threat-generating factors”); Oksana Avilova, Candidate of Juridical Sciences, an associate professor of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law (topic: “Modern Russian ethnopolitics: challenges and solutions. Multi-confessionalism as a factor in state construction”); Maria Starodubtseva, a senior lecturer of the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology (topic: “The spread of the ideology of terrorism and extremism among young people); Alexander Vorontsov, Director of the Coordination Center of AltSU (topic: “National model of countering terrorism”).

Director of the coordination center Alexander Vorontsov notes:

“The topic of countering interethnic conflicts is relevant, since public authorities, educational organizations, and other actors in the socio-political sphere in the modern political situation must necessarily keep in the focus of their attention the problem of the spread of extremist ideology, the ideology of violence (terrorism), and improve the tools they have for conducting preventive work.”

Irina Rekhtina, Director of the Center for Retraining and Advanced Training of the Institute of Law of AltSU, emphasizes:

“The program focuses on developing in students the competencies necessary to solve problems aimed at strengthening the all-Russian civic identity, preserving and supporting the ethnocultural and religious diversity of the peoples of the Russian Federation, international (interethnic) and interreligious harmony. The course reflects new trends in the development of Russian legislation regarding the regulation of interethnic and interfaith relations in modern Russia, including in the implementation of migration policy and the implementation of state national policy in the field of education.”
