To strengthen international ties and advance scientific and educational collaboration, Altai State University (ASU) has signed new partnership agreements with universities in the Kyrgyz Republic.
On March 23, Ivan Nazarov—Director of the Institute of History and International Relations at Altai State University and leading expert at the Greater Altai Research and Educational Center for Altaic and Turkic Studies—met with the rectors of I. Arabaev Kyrgyz State University (KSU) and J. Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University (KNU) during his visit to Kyrgyzstan.
Negotiations with KSU resulted in an agreement to launch a joint two-degree master's program in History.
Ivan Nazarov, Director of the Institute of International Relations (IIMO), stated:
"Our agreement builds on the successful collaboration that began with the program in International Regional Studies (specializing in 'Ethnicity of the Turkic-Mongolian World in Contemporary Art Practices') and continued with the first intake of the Master's program in History last year. The joint training of history master's students will advance key topics of mutual importance for Russia and Central Asia."
Aigul Abdraeva, Rector of I. Arabaev Kyrgyz State University, emphasized the strategic value of the inter-university partnership, which "opens up new horizons for academic mobility, including for Russian students."
At a meeting with Professor Dogdurbek Chontoyev, Rector of KNU, Ivan Nazarov discussed prospects for expanding academic mobility programs and double degrees for students and faculty, as well as implementing joint research projects and holding international conferences.
Following the meeting, Altai State University and KNU signed a cooperation agreement. It stipulates that the universities will collaborate on developing education, science, and international relations.
Dogdurbek Chontoyev and Ivan Nazarov expressed confidence that this agreement will strengthen friendly relations between Russia and Kyrgyzstan, enhance education quality, and create new opportunities.
