The I Asian Students’ Forum “Education without borders. Altai-Asia 2012”

Asian Students’ Forum “Education without borders. Altai-Asia 2012” was held from 27 to 30 June 2012 in a picturesque place of the Altai Krai in the tourist complex "Stick Travel" (Altai Krai, Altai region, the Aya settlement, Katunskaya Street, 2a).

The lists of the Forum participants, experts and organizers are available at the web-site.The total number of the participants was 250, including more than 120 representatives from 31 foreign universities (Armenia, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kirgizia, China, Mongolia, Singapore, and South Korea). The participants were coming mostly from Kazakhstan and China. The entry list consisted of students, lecturers and universities’ administration staff.

The main objective of the Forum was the Asian universities and institutes consolidation in order to develop the higher education integration, academic mobility and cultural ties on the ground of Russian and Asian students’ cooperation.

The Forum was supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation; the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation; the “Rossotrudnichestvo” Federal Agency; the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO); the Altai Region Administration; the Russian Rectors Union; the Eurasian Universities Association.

The Forum working languages were Russian and English.

    • Available non-Olympic sports popular among the Asian youth

The discussion working format was organized in the form of presentations (Power Point or video 5-7 minutes long). Each university delegation had one presentation to show. A number of workshops and competitions were organized as well. The international guests also had an opportunity to take part in different sports activities, explore the elements of traditional and modern Asian culture exposed at the International Students Festival of National Cultures and go on a sight-seeing tour in order to enjoy the beauty of the Altai Mountains.
