"For our university, cooperation with Kazakhstan is of great importance; we have launched many joint projects. The Greater Altai is a region that unites several states, including Russia and Kazakhstan, and promotes scientific research in the field of archaeology, ethnography, genome among other fields. We hope that thanks to this meeting and the development of cooperation, we will be able to strengthen our research projects, as well as find new partners,” Sergei Bocharov emphasized in his welcoming speech.

In turn, Dauren Abaev expressed gratitude to Altai Krai and the management of Altai State University for organizing his visit. He underscored the enduring relevance of topics like ecology, Altaic studies, and Altai’s history for many years to come. He addressed those present with a welcoming speech, noting that many students from Kazakhstan go to study in Russia because of the shared way of life, culture and mentality of the peoples of the two countries. The ambassador called on the youth to obey the laws and have great respect for everything that happens in the host country. He also encouraged the students to make the most of their time by broadening their horizons, acquiring new skills, and enjoying their free time.
– It is important to know that at the moment you have time that you may not have later. You have a job, a family, and obligations ahead. Now you have the opportunity to strengthen your social connections, make new acquaintances, expand your knowledge and skills not only in your chosen field. Learn to play the guitar, learn a foreign language, pursue your hobby – believe me, this is the only way your life will be fulfilling. Perhaps even what seems unnecessary now will be useful in the future. And, of course, we need to set aside time for rest and entertainment,” Dauren Abaev advised the students.
During the meeting, a presentation of the virtual museum “The Greater Altai – the ancestral home of the Turks” was held.
