Students from Altai State University showcase a neural network audio processing service and other IT solutions at the “University Startup” expert session

On April 26, an expert session “University Startup” was held at Altai State University as part of the Youth Science Days. At the session, projects of teams that submitted applications for the “Student Startup” competition from the Innovation Promotion Fund were presented.

All seven startups are related to IT topics:

• Creation of a mobile application for football sports schools for theoretical training and consolidation of practical exercises for athletes from 7 to 19 years old (Deriglazova G.N., Zhbannikova O.N., IGN).

• Simple China – creation of a mobile application for working with the Chinese language (Moiseenko V.N., Savich G.A., Isupova S.A., IGN),

• Creation of a mobile application to reduce/prevent professional burnout EmoCare (Zaitseva T.M., Shilenkova A.V., Karageur R.M., IGN),

• Development of a collection of educational games and programs for VR (Erofeev T.K., IMiIT),

• Mobile system for submitting applications for certificates at a university via voice input (Rubtsov V.R., IMiIT),

• Creation of a website guide to Altai museums (Grazhdankina V.A., Shcherbakova Yu.M., IIMO),

• Creation of an online service for neural network processing of audio recordings (Karev V.V., ICTEP).

Expert assessments of the projects were given by business representatives: Anna Malyar, entrepreneur, business coach, author and speaker of training programs, Maria Yuzhakova, general director of the Advertising and Marketing Project Center, creative director of the PIXEL IT group, board member of the association of graduates of the presidential program “Status”, executive director of the Interregional Intersectoral Center for the Development of Qualifications and Competencies, Anna Nemchinova, head of the training company “Prodazhnick”, Oleg Sheludyakov, director of OOO “Atoll,” public representative of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives in Altai Krai in the direction of “Entrepreneurship and Technology”.

Olga Vysotskaya, director of the Center for the Development of Technological Entrepreneurship at Altai State University, said:

— We continue the practice of holding expert sessions for those students who have presented their technological startup projects to innovation support institutes. This is a huge help for the guys in finalizing the presentation of the project before the expert commissions of the competitions. Businessmen and representatives of the real sector of the economy pose insightful questions that allow the students to examine their project from a fresh perspective, improve the presentations, which ultimately enhance their confidence when defending a project in funding organizations. This, in turn, increases their chances to win.

Members of the expert commission also shared their impressions. Anna Malyar noted:

— I was impressed by the level of preparation demonstrated by the participants. Their ideas are relevant and, with proper development, most projects appear viable. You can see the passion and dedication of the students have for their work, it makes me happy. I wish the participants successful defense and implementation of their ideas! Believe in your business, and you will succeed!

Maria Yuzhakova adds:

— The projects presented today pleased me. While they may have various degrees of elaboration, it is evident that the guys studied the social and economic significance of each project, and they have a practical orientation. I am sure that the comments and recommendations received during this session will enable the teams to finalize their projects so that they can qualify for grant support.

Based on the results of the expert session, the best projects were recognized as:

1. 1st place - Creation of an online service for neural network processing of audio recordings (Karev V.V., ICTEP);

2. 2nd place - Creation of a mobile application for football sports schools for theoretical training and consolidation of practical exercises of athletes from 7 to 19 years old (Deriglazova G.N., Zhbannikova O.N., IGN);

3. 3rd place - Simple China – creation of a mobile application for working with the Chinese language (Moiseenko V.N., Savich G.A., Isupova S.A., IGN).

Participant of the expert session, master's student at the Institute of Human Sciences Galina Deriglazova shared her impressions of the session:

— I am truly grateful for the chance to take part in this event. The insights shared by the expert were really valuable. Each time I enter the doors of my beloved university, I catch myself thinking about the opportunities provided by the programs and projects, and dedicated staff that supports my growth and development.
