At the end of February, Saratov State Law Academy (SSLA) held a Civil Week to mark its 95th anniversary. Irina Rekhtina, Doctor of Law and Head of the Department of Labor, Environmental Law, and Civil Procedure at the Law Institute of Altai State University (ASU), delivered an open lecture entitled Legal Clarity in Modern Civil Procedure.
The lecture addressed current issues concerning legal clarity, trends in the development of civil procedure, and modern approaches to judicial practice. During her presentation, Irina Rekhtina also introduced the unique master’s programs offered at the Law Institute of ASU. As part of the events organized by Dissertation Council 24.2.390.01, a public defense of Konstantin Chernov’s candidate dissertation titled Proceedings for Award of Compensation for Violation of the Right to a Trial within a Reasonable Time or the Right to Enforcement of a Judgment within a Reasonable Time in Arbitration Proceedings took place. Professor Irina Rekhtina from Altai State University served as the official opponent.
During the visit of legal scholars to SSLA, an agreement was reached on cooperation between ASU and the Academy’s Dissertation Council regarding dissertation defenses of ASU graduate students in the academic specialty 5.1.3. Private Law (Civil Law) Sciences. Information about the academic specialties available at the LAW Institute of ASU, where applicants can enroll and prepare for dissertation defenses, is posted on the university’s website in the Academic Specialties in Graduate Studies section.
Commenting on the event, Irina Vladimirovna noted:
“Our department has long-standing ties with scholars from Saratov State Law Academy. Collaboration is based on joint research, grant projects, conferences, roundtables, forums, and postgraduate defenses. This interaction promotes the development of innovative approaches to legal issues and forms a foundation for interdisciplinary research. Collaboration between the law schools of ASU and SSLA undoubtedly enhances scientific potential and improves the quality of legal education in Russia.”
She also emphasized that the Law Institute of ASU welcomes graduates motivated by academic achievement and those who wish to pursue a research career.
