Altai State University offers comprehensive support to young families among both students and staff. Here is an overview of the types of assistance available and where to apply.
Currently, Altai State University has about 100 student families. They can benefit from the support, which includes financial aid such as:
Child support grants: Student families with children can receive financial assistance once or twice per semester – up to 8,000 rubles per child. If there are more than two children in the family, the amount increases to 10,000 rubles per child.
- Emergency aid: Families facing difficult life circumstances, such as fire, accidents, or loss of a spouse or close relative, may qualify for one-time cash payments.
- Pregnancy support: Female students who register their pregnancy during the early stages are eligible for a one-time payment of 5,000 rubles.
- Marriage grant: Newlyweds who officially register their marriage receive a one-time financial bonus.
- To receive these payments, you need to contact the directorate of your institute and submit an application.
"In addition to financial support, the university also offers social assistance to families of both students and employees. For instance, free psychological counseling is available at our PSY-contact center, where experienced psychologists provide help with various issues – whether related to children, spouses, or other concerns. Through the ASU Students’ League, families can receive New Year’s gifts, as well as complimentary tickets to theaters, exhibitions, and other cultural events. Another important benefit is that students with young children have the option to switch to an individual study schedule, allowing them to attend classes and take exams at times that suit their needs," said Tatyana Antonenko, Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Additional Education.
