Students from 12 countries participated in the competition program of the Altai State University National Cultures Festival titled Under the Sky of Friendship.

The Institute of Humanities at Altai State University held the largest and most diverse competition stage of the Altai State University National Cultures Festival "Under the Sky of Friendship."

The event opened with the "Russian Classics" literary and poetry contest and continued with a major competition held on the stage of the Altai State University Concert Hall, where international students primarily delivered presentations about their home countries. All participants were required to present, in Russian, key landmarks and major cities of their countries, nature, cuisine, traditions, and national costumes. In addition, during the second stage of the competition, students could prepare dance and song performances in their native languages, which some of them chose to do, enriching the festival with vibrant and original performances. Undoubtedly, the main responsibility for preparing students for the festival was undertaken by the faculty of the Preparatory Department for International Students at Altai State University's Institute of National Cultures, headed by Associate Professor Alena Kintsel, Candidate of Philolological Sciences, as well as the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language, led by Professor Lidiya Dmitrieva, Doctor of Philology.

According to Alena Kintsel, the Festival of National Cultures represents a significant stage in teaching Russian to young people from abroad. Its cultural and educational focus not only broadens the audience's horizons but also introduces young people to the cultural heritage of the peoples of Asia and Africa, contributing to shaping their values.

Representatives of 12 countries participated in the second stage of the IV Festival of National Cultures "Under the Sky of Friendship": Mongolia, China, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Yemen, Sudan, Morocco, Guinea-Bissau, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Zimbabwe, and Zambia. While each performance was distinctive and engaging, the jury will select the best performers in the second stage of the festival, whose numbers will be presented at the festival's final gala concert, which will take place on May 13 at 2:00 PM on the stage of the Altai State University Concert Hall.
