Altai State University (ASU) has published the 18th volume of its scientific collection titled Sociology in the Modern World: Science, Education, and Creativity. Launched in 2000, it keeps the academic community informed about cutting-edge sociological research.
Edited by Evgeny Popov and Viktor Nagaitsev, the volume gathers works addressing key social challenges in contemporary Russia. The authors examine these through interdisciplinary connections with philosophy, cultural studies, law, psychology, conflict resolution, social work, and related fields.
The contributions highlight the potential of sociological science in analysing human social activity in a digital society. A substantial section covers digital societal development, demographic, migration and ethnic processes, as well as the cultural and spiritual dimensions of modern life.
The articles present findings from empirical studies by leading scholars from Barnaul, Novosibirsk, Saratov, Lipetsk, and other Russian cities, alongside contributions from teachers, social workers, and undergraduate and graduate students.
The materials' quality was vetted by prominent experts Vladimir Semenov and Valentin Nemirovsky, both Doctors of Sociology from St. Petersburg.
This collection will benefit researchers, educators, students, and anyone interested in modern sociology and its insights into current social processes.
