Over 60 students are engaged in the training program, including representatives of the Department of Youth Policy and Implementation of Social Development of Altai Krai, the Regional State Autonomous Institution "Regional Palace of Youth", Altai State College, the Inter-Municipal Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Biyskoye", the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Rubtsovsky", the Criminal Investigation Department for the Central District of the Department of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Barnaul, the Barnaul Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the Belovo Institute (branch) of the Kemerovo State University, etc.

"Russia is a multinational state, and this diversity represents both a significant asset and a considerable challenge. Multinationality requires the careful and skilled construction of relationships among representatives of various nationalities and religions. How to achieve this? The advanced training program "Interethnic and Interfaith Relations in Modern Russia" offers comprehensive answers. I am grateful to Petr Dashkovsky, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Regional Studies of Russia, National and State-Confessional Relations, for having assembled a strong team of instructors with both practical and theoretical expertise in the field. And I am confident that they will help to significantly broaden the knowledge base and enhance the professional training of specialists participating in the program," said Professor Larisa Nekhvyadovich, Acting Director of the Institute of Humanities at ASU, Doctor of Art Criticism, at the opening of the program.

During the training, students will get acquainted with three educational blocks: "Ethnic and religious diversity of Russia"; "National and state-confessional relations in Russia at the current stage"; "Fundamental principles and organizational foundations for countering extremist and terrorist activities."

"Russia has historically developed as a multi-ethnic and multi-confessional state, which has made the regulation of these issues a constant focus for government authorities, law enforcement, and scholars. At Altai State University, the Department of Regional Studies of Russia, National and State-Confessional Relations — one of the university’s oldest departments with extensive expertise — addresses these matters. The faculty offers some of the most sought-after and relevant educational programs, including those in continuing education. The advanced training program "Interethnic and Interfaith Relations in Modern Russia" exemplifies this approach. The program’s participants will receive targeted training in the state regulation of current ethnic and religious processes in Russia," Petr Dashkovsky specified.

According to Natalia Dvoryanchikova, Head of the program, an associate professor of the Department of  Regional Studies of Russia, National and State-Confessional Relations at the Institute of Humanities of ASU, Candidate of Historical Sciences, as a result of the comprehensive study, students will receive professional competencies necessary for addressing problems aimed at strengthening the all-Russian civil identity, preserving and supporting the ethnocultural and religious diversity of the peoples of the Russian Federation, and interethnic and interreligious harmony.
