Head of the program, an associate professor of the Department of Foreign Languages of the Institute of International Relations Irina Pyanzina spoke about the relevance of the program:

“For the tourism industry, for everyone who works in it. The person who leads the tour must know at least one foreign language. Because almost always there are foreign tourists in the group. In addition to using gadgets - audio guides, electronic translators, the guide should always be able to communicate. Many tourists, including foreign ones, are very fond of asking questions that need to be quickly answered in their language. The knowledge and skills gained in our additional education program will allow to master language skills for fluent communication, quickly navigate and be ready for any situation. And a certificate of advanced training will certainly be a big plus for employment.”

The program for training guides in a foreign language in the Altai Mountains and Altai Krai was included in the federal project "Employment Promotion" of the national project "Demography". Its goal is to promote the employment of certain categories of citizens. These include, for example, citizens aged 50 years and older, people of pre-retirement age, women on parental leave, women who are not in an employment relationship and have children of preschool age, and a number of other categories.
